Sulfur Gas (Smelly Water) Sulfur gas is a natural occurring gas caused by organic material decomposing. In certain water aquifers the gas is more prevalent than others. Sulfur gas can also come from growth of bacteria in the well. There are a few combination and some different and some different treatment for sulfur gases
Sometimes the problem can be in the water heater. The anode is reacting with the minerals in the water. Contact your plumber if the smell is only in the hot water side.
